Leana Greene is the founder and CEO of KidsInTheHouse.com, the world’s largest parenting video library. She is a three time CEO, mother of three, and considered one of the top female entrepreneurs in the United States. Raised in Stockholm, Sweden, later emigrating to the United States, Greene worked to overcome dyslexia early in life, turning her learning disability into an opportunity to push herself to achieve success. Anentrepreneur at heart, in her early 20s she started her first venture, Absolute Court Reporting, leveraging her natural business savvy to build it into the premier court reporting company in Southern California with millions of dollars in revenue. In 2003, after only five years, she sold the company to Paulson Court Reporting.
A natural performer as well, in 2005 Greene started her own record company, Swedish Diva Productions. She wrote, produced and recorded an original album, Faith in Myself, with several songs breaking into the international charts, including five Top 10 Billboard Dance hits, Top 5 on UK's MusicWeek Pop Chart, #1 on DJ Times, #2 on Spain’s Fresh 40, as well as a nomination for Best HiNRG/Euro Track at the 2006 International Dance Awards and winner of the 2006 Song of the Year at Stockholm Pride.
After having three children, Leana sold her businesses to focus on her family, and she developed a passion for education and parenting. She began spending time reading parenting books, attending lectures, and trying to find a resource that encompassed everything she needed to know as a parent. From there, her vision of Kids in the House developed and she aimed to combine the wealth of parenting information found in books and lectures into a fun and easy-to-use video format. Leana spent three years partnering with over 450 parenting experts and producing over 8,000 educational videos that inspire, educate, and entertain parents. In 2013 Kids In The House was launched and now serves as the world’s biggest and most informative educational parenting video library.
Among ongoing initiatives for Kids in the House, in Fall 2014 Greene spearheaded a campaign, #EndBullying, an initiative to raise awareness, especially of cyber-bullying, through interviews with children who have personally experienced bullying, and top experts, on its many forms, what to do when it happens, and ways to stop it. The campaign inspired strong social media sharing, support from celebrities such as Beyoncé, and media coverage from Reuters to Babble to The Huffington Post.
Among her forthcoming projects, Greene produced and directed Baby Care 101, The Pump Station and Nurtury's video series on complete infant care, to be released early in 2015. She is also author of a forthcoming children’s book, "Manners From The Heart" a modern parental guide to feelings-based etiquette for children.
Greene serves on the honorary host committee for the 2014 Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media Symposium. She is also a strong supporter of Healthy Child Healthy World, Common Sense Media, and Brentwood School, where she serves on the Parent University and Education & Community Committees. She formerly spent a decade as treasurer of the Swedish School of Los Angeles and also served as board member for the Edgemar Center for the Arts.
An active volunteer for her children’s schools and the community, Leana Greene finds her greatest joy in spending time with her three children Violet (15), Blue (12) and Teal (7).
